Trust Tax Accountant Contract Seasonal

We are actively seeking an experienced Trust Tax Senior or Manager to support a high-volume client during the 2026 busy season and beyond. This is a remote, fractional role with full-time hours during peak season, with work continuing through September 30 and the potential to extend longer-term based on performance and business needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who specializes in trust taxation and is looking for a high-impact, flexible, well-compensated contract role.

Engagement Details

• Start Date: February 1
• End Date: September 30 (with potential to extend)
• Minimum Commitment: 450 total hours
• Hourly Rate: $75–$80/hour (estimated take-home)
• Workload by Phase:
• Feb 1 – April 15: 30–40 hours/week
• April 15 – Aug 1: 10–15 hours/week
• Aug 1 – Sept 30: 15–20 hours/week
• Work Arrangement: 100% Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review complex trust tax returns
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing
• Collaborate directly with the client team to meet critical deadlines
• Provide technical guidance on trust-related tax matters as needed

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong trust tax preparation and review experience required
• Senior or Manager level background
• UltraTax experience required
• Active CPA or EA license required
• Ability to commit to the hour requirements listed above
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
