Wild Blood is an emerging beverage company with a rapidly growing distribution footprint, offering high quality canned coconut water with edgy, highly differentiated branding. We’re building an identity that reaches new consumers and allow us to access channels normally not available to coconut water. Our product fits in at music venues, bars, and festivals as well as it does on grocery store shelves.
We are looking for a fractional CMO to own our marketing strategy and help build the brand as we scale nationally.
About the Role
This is an independent contractor engagement for a senior marketing executive ready to own brand and growth strategy for an early-stage beverage brand. You’ll drive paid and organic marketing, digital strategy, content direction, influencer and ambassador programs, and retail/trade marketing – while helping us build the marketing infrastructure and team we need to grow.
This is an early-stage opportunity. As Wild Blood scales, there is strong potential for this role to convert to a full-time position with equity participation for the right person.
Compensation is structured as a monthly retainer.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Brand Identity
Develop, manage, and ensure consistency of Wild Blood’s positioning, voice, and visual identity across all channels – from packaging and social to retail and events.
2. Content Strategy
Direct content planning and production across social and owned platforms. Ensure content is on-brand, platform-native, and built to drive engagement and community growth.
3. Social Media & Community
Own Wild Blood’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms. Drive follower growth, engagement, and community building through consistent, platform-native execution.
4. Paid Media & Advertising
Own and optimize paid marketing across digital channels – including Meta, TikTok, Google, and other relevant platforms. Drive customer acquisition and brand awareness through performance-focused campaigns.
5. Email & CRM Marketing
Lead strategy across owned channels including email and SMS. Build and optimize retention programs, lifecycle campaigns, and DTC growth initiatives in partnership with our e-commerce stack.
6. Influencer & Ambassador Programs
Develop and manage relationships with brand ambassadors and influencers. Build scalable frameworks for activating these partnerships effectively and on-brand.
7. Retail & Trade Marketing
Develop retail marketing strategies including point-of-sale materials, promotional programs, and sell-in support for distributors and buyers. Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing assets with channel priorities.
8. PR & Communications
Oversee external communications strategy and manage relationships with PR partners. Support brand visibility through press, partnerships, and event presence.
9. Marketing Organization Development
Help design and build the marketing team Wild Blood will need to scale — including input on hiring profiles, agency and contractor relationships, tooling, and the workflows that will support a growing org.
10. Reporting & Performance
Provide regular updates on campaign performance, brand KPIs, and growth opportunities. Translate data into actionable recommendations.
