Kforce has a client in Rockville, MD that is seeking a Fractional CFO. Position Summary: The Fractional CFO will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to a nonprofit organization, partnering with the Executive Director and Board to ensure financial stability, sustainability, and informed decision-making. This role will focus on financial planning, budgeting, reporting, cash flow management, and long-term organizational strategy rather than day-to-day accounting. This role is part-time and will consist of 10-20 hours per month. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the Executive Director and Board
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis
- Prepare and present financial reports and insights to leadership and the Board
- Monitor organizational financial health, risks, and sustainability
- Support annual planning, funding strategies, and major financial decisions
- Strengthen financial policies, controls, and processes as needed
- Partner with accounting staff, auditors, and external financial partners
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
– 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience
– Prior CFO, Controller, or senior financial leadership experience
– Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
– Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
– Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership and/or a Board of Directors
– Strong strategic thinking, communication, and analytical skills
– Ability to work effectively in a part-time/fractional capacity and operate independently
