Fractional Finance Manager Contract Part Time NEW

We’re seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations of a luxury skincare company in New York City.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers while helping leadership make informed business decisions.

You will be maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and keeping inventory on track. You will have ownership of bookkeeping, AP/AR, budgeting, and inventory management, and payroll while providing clear, actionable financial reporting.

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can identify issues early, manage competing priorities, and ensure financial and operational processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and complete monthly financial close activities.
• AP/AR: Review invoices, process approved payments on time, and negotiate vendor pricing and payment terms when appropriate. Monitor outstanding balances, follow up on collections, and ensure sales, service, and membership payments are received and deposited accurately.
• Budgeting & Cash Flow: Develop and maintain budgets, forecast cash needs, monitor spending, and recommend cost-effective financial decisions.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, coordinate monthly counts with location teams, investigate discrepancies, and plan replenishment within budget.
• Financial Reporting: Maintain financial spreadsheets and provide leadership with a concise weekly overview of cash flow, sales, payroll percentage, and issues requiring attention.
• Operational Accountability: Partner with managers to achieve financial targets, address discrepancies, resolve outstanding issues, and improve financial and operational processes.
• Payroll Administration: Verify manager-approved hours and commissions and ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations.
• Experience in a product-based or multi-location business is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Shopify, Vagaro, and Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, inventory management, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and address problems proactively.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear, practical insights for leadership.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
• Professional, solution-oriented communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with managers and leadership.

Schedule

This is a part-time, fractional position with a dedicated 15 to 20 hours per week. It is mostly remote with one visit per week in person is ideal.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll keep the books accurate and up to date, ensure payments and payroll are handled reliably, maintain visibility into cash flow and inventory, and give leadership the information needed to make confident spending decisions. Most importantly, you will take ownership of the details and help keep the business financially organized and operationally efficient.

Compensation

$ 30 – $ 50 per hour
