1099 FRACTIONAL HR CONSULTANT
Bloom Remodeling is seeking an experienced Human Resources Consultant to partner with our growing team. This role will provide ongoing support on an as-needed basis. We anticipate a fluctuating workload depending on company initiatives and employee needs, with opportunities for the role to grow as Bloom continues to expand. We hope to find a trusted advisor to provide guidance on HR best practices, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping small businesses build sustainable HR processes while balancing legal compliance with a positive employee experience. This position will work closely with leadership and our internal HR representative to provide expertise, recommendations, and support as needed. This position is an independent contractor (1099) role with flexible hours based on business needs. This can be a remote position, as long as the candidate has extensive knowledge of Colorado state laws and regulations. As Bloom continues to grow, there may be an opportunity for this role to evolve into a regular part-time position for the right candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise leadership on HR best practices and employment-related matters.
- Review, develop, and update employee policies, handbooks, and HR documentation.
- Draft and refine job descriptions, SOPs, and performance management documents.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with an emphasis on Colorado employment regulations.
- Recommend improvements to hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and performance review processes.
- Assist with workplace investigations or sensitive employee matters when needed.
- Serve as a confidential, neutral resource for employees when needed.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Maintain HR documentation and advise on recordkeeping best practices.
- Provide coaching and HR support to managers as workplace situations arise.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR systems and processes as the company grows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably supporting small businesses.
- Strong knowledge of Colorado and federal employment law.
- Experience developing employee handbooks, policies, and HR procedures.
- Experience advising leaders through employee relations and performance management situations.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred, but not required.
