Fractional Marketing Lead — Orthopaedic Care Platform (Northern Virginia)

Contract | 10–15 hours/week to start through the Chantilly launch, settling toward 8–10 hours/week after | $100–140/hour DOE | 3-month initial term, ongoing for the right fit | Remote-friendly, DC/NoVA market knowledge strongly preferred

Who we are

We’re a growing family of orthopaedic care brands in Northern Virginia: urgent care clinics in Arlington and Chantilly (opening this month), plus a growing specialty surgical practice and sports therapy practice. Patients come to us to skip the ER and see an orthopaedic specialist the same day, with imaging on site. Our practices participate in the Privia Medical Group network.

The engagement

Our marketing strategy, brand voices, and channel priorities are set. What we’re missing is the person who makes it all happen. You’d work directly with our founder, who will walk you through the thinking behind each campaign; your part is translating it into channels with craft and speed. If you love running a tight playbook and can show the numbers from the last time you did, you’ll like this work. You won’t be building from scratch — the strategy and brand are set. We want your hands on execution and your judgment on where to optimize as results come in.

You’d own three things:

• The digital engine. Local search comes first: Google Business Profiles, listings, on-site SEO with our web agency, and review generation across locations. When someone searches “urgent care for a broken ankle near me,” we want to be the answer. You’d also run our educational newsletter and content calendar across audience segments, manage a modest paid budget that shifts with launch timing, and run our predictive-targeted direct mail program through SocialClimb. The Privia network is a channel of its own, in both directions: helping the network’s primary care practices know when to send a patient to us instead of the ER, and reaching patients through Privia’s own portal and outreach tools.
• Field enablement. Our clinical and administrative team members carry our most important community relationships in person: athletic trainers, employer accounts, referring physician offices. They’re the faces; you’re the engine behind them. For each visit, you’d line up the target, schedule the meeting, prepare the one-pager and talking points, brief the person going, and run the follow-up. You’d also build the route plans and collateral kits for a part-time field associate doing broader community outreach. If you’ve built sales or liaison enablement before, tell us; it’s the differentiating skill here.
• Measurement. Source attribution (“how did you hear about us”), a monthly channel report worth reading, a running log of field touches by channel, and intake and post-visit surveys, owned start to finish — from fielding them to reporting what they show.

Who fits

• A senior marketer (roughly 8+ years) with healthcare or multi-location consumer services experience, ideally launching locations into markets that didn’t know the category existed.
• Hands-on with Google Business Profile, local SEO tools, and an email platform. You like doing the work.
• A clear writer who can hold an institutional, educational voice and keep several brand voices distinct.
• Bonus points for SocialClimb (or a similar healthcare patient-acquisition platform) and hands-on direct mail experience.
• You use AI tools daily to multiply your output while keeping the voice and judgment your own. Tell us how in your application.
• A true fractional: your own business, multiple clients, bounded hours, visible output.
• DC/NoVA market familiarity is a big plus. Most work is remote, with occasional on-site time for planning.

• Our founder is a well-known surgeon with a strong professional following. Would you feature him prominently across all of our brands’ channels? Walk us through your reasoning.
• How do you keep busy clinicians and administrators effective in community relationship visits without eating their time?
