We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Independent Georgia School Finance Consultant / Fractional CFO to partner with educational institutions and non-profit school organizations. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert financial leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight to help schools achieve fiscal stability, compliance, and growth. Your expertise will drive sound financial decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the financial health of educational organizations while working flexibly across multiple entities.
Carmack Consulting Group is developing an integrated back-office services offering for Georgia charter schools. We are seeking an experienced school-finance professional to partner with us as an independent contractor on future client engagements.
This opportunity is designed for an individual consultant or one-person business—not a traditional employee position or salaried role. It is intended to be flexible and part-time, with most engagements anticipated to require approximately 5–20 hours per client per month, depending on the school’s size, needs and scope of services. Additional hours may be available during implementation, budgeting, audit preparation and other peak periods.
Compensation will be negotiated and paid per client based on the scope of services and level of responsibility.
The ideal partner will have substantial experience in:
Additional qualifications:
A CPA designation is welcomed but not required. Direct Georgia school-finance experience is more important than general accounting experience.
Carmack Consulting Group will maintain the primary client relationship and lead the broader HR, compliance and organizational-operations engagement. The selected finance partner will provide specialized financial leadership and execution as part of an integrated client solution.
This is a part-time, per-client independent-contractor opportunity. It does not include a salary, employee benefits or a guaranteed minimum number of clients or hours. The anticipated relationship is ongoing, with workload and compensation established separately for each engagement.
If this opportunity aligns with your background—or you know an exceptional Georgia school-finance professional who may be interested—please send me a direct message with a résumé or professional profile and a brief description of your relevant experience.
Join us as a vital partner in shaping the future of educational excellence through sound financial stewardship!
