SENIOR MANAGER, FP & A (CPA | Fractional)

Overview

We have an immediate need for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, FP &A (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team on a part-time basis. The Senior Manager (SAM) works across engagement teams and client personnel to manage core accounting functions for clients.

Responsibilities include

• overseeing the monthly close process, performing and reviewing account reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and procure-to-pay (P2P) and order-to-cash (O2C) cycles.
• The SAM supervises a team of accounting managers and accountants, providing both direction and mentoring.
• Experience with management and board reporting and establishing policies and procedures within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• The ideal candidate has worked at or with early- to late-stage start-ups and has a passion for helping entrepreneurs scale and grow companies advancing cutting-edge technologies.
• VCG places a priority on quality-of-life for its consultants. This role is part-time, with hours based on consultant availability and client needs, but must be available during business hours.

Duties

• Oversee monthly closes, ensuring accuracy and clear and concise documentation; engage clients directly in discussion of financial statements
• Assist in preparing annual budgets in close coordination with client management teams
• Support management and board reporting, as requested, including FP&A
• Ensure tax compliance; work in conjunction with third party tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate tax filings
• Set up client processes to ensure efficient accounting operations;
• Provide cash management insights, including cash forecasts;
• Analyze company operations to identify operational and cost efficiencies and implement solutions;
• Lead annual financial and/or grant audits, as required; and
• Mentor accounting teams across all clients

Requirements

Education: Demonstrated record of academic achievement.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or Finance with appropriate Accounting coursework); Masters in Accounting or MBA a plus;
• Minimum 3 years Big 4 experience + CPA required
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility
• Desire to learn, working in coordination with the Controller;
• Desire to lead, working closely with our accounting team and provide mentorship to help our team grow and develop;
• Microsoft Office, particularly Excel with a high degree of comfort with data analysis functions
• Experience with commonly used software solutions like QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, ZipHQ, Sage Intacct, Trinet, Bill.com, Rippling, Expensify, Carta, Asana, Fishbowl and SOS; advanced usage of AI a definite plus.

Salary & Benefits

This role is hourly and compensation is DOE. Primary caregivers and others requiring a flexible work schedule or reduced hours, both in- and outside of business hours are encouraged to apply. Pay: $125.00 – $175.00 per hour
